I asked Stanley what he wanted for his birthday and he said 'you can just give me a drawing'. It is sometimes hard to come up with a drawing. I felt stuck, so I drew how stuck I felt.
When a young child expresses what is true for him/her, and cannot feel heard and mirrored in someone else's response to them, an emptiness develops, where a secure sense of self needs to grow.
That took a lot of words to explain. A drawing is more effective.
